Geography students complete fieldwork studies
This term, both Year 8 and Year 11 students have taken part in geography fieldwork, improving their data collection, data presentation and teamwork skills.
Year 8 successfully decided which site on the school grounds would be more likely to flood, based on their infiltration rate data collection.
Year 11 GCSE Geography students visited the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (pictured) to investigate if the regeneration had left a positive legacy and came away agreeing that it had, based on questionnaires with the public, pedestrian counts and an environmental quality survey.
Students also completed their river fieldwork, concluding that the discharge did increase downstream of the River Tillingbourne after collecting data on the width, depth and velocity.
