An unforgettable trip to Brussels
At the weekend, a group of our Year 11 students embarked on an unforgettable school trip to Brussels.
The adventure began with a visit to the Euro Space Centre, followed by a tour through the Grand Palace, Brussels’ central square and a UNESCO World Heritage site. At the Choco-Story Museum, students learned the story of Belgian chocolate. They also discovered the art of chocolate-making, from the cocoa bean to the delicious treats we all love and enjoyed some hands-on activities and tastings! There were also visits to the Planetarium and Autoworld Brussels. A big thank you to Mr Alabi, Ms Friday, Mr Afriyie, the admin Team, and all the staff and parents who supported this adventure. We’re already looking forward to our next journey!
On Wednesday, students in Year 7 and 10 were treated to a production of A Christmas Carol and Macbeth by The Globe Players as part of our Character Education curriculum. These plays were selected to align with curriculum studies, enriching students' understanding of literature while inspiring a love for the arts. Thank you to Mr Gardner for organising the event.
We also held our school Christmas lunch, which was generously served and delicious. Well done to the catering team! On the same day, we hosted a senior citizen community event for our local residents. Student volunteers Jahmal, Jahmique, Archie and Sean (Year 9) helped plan and run the event, providing conversation, company and board games. The boys were excellent representatives of the school and gave the visitors a very special afternoon. Well done! Thank you to Ms Ruby and Ms Walsh for their support.
In the M&G Enterprise Challenge on Friday, another group of 30 Year 7 students planned and designed a music concert. Thank you to Mr Alabi for organising these fantastic experiences.
