Celebrating student achievement
On Thursday night we celebrated our Jack Petchey winners.
Rewards breakfast
This week, I held a rewards breakfast with a group of our brilliant Year 9 students, who were nominated by Ms Walsh and Mr Needham. Well done to Alfie, Falisha, Hayden, Ibrrim, Lilyanna, Sean and Temur: you gave great feedback on how Orchard Park can be even better and shared your thanks for our wonderful staff.
Year 11 PPEs
Congratulations to our Year 11 students for completing their first round of PPE exams! This milestone marks an important achievement in their journey, showcasing their commitment to the school values. Throughout their preparation, they have demonstrated exceptional drive and excellence, working hard to reach their full potential. Their ability to collaborate with peers and support one another has been lovely to see, embodying the spirit of teamwork. Most importantly, they have upheld the highest standards of integrity, approaching each exam with honesty and dedication. While this is a significant step, there is still much more to come, and we are confident that their continued focus and resilience will carry them through the challenges ahead. Keep up the great work, Year 11 – we are incredibly proud of you.
Jack Petchey Awards
On Thursday night we celebrated our Jack Petchey winners at the annual awards ceremony. Huge congratulations to Jay, Reggie, Georgia, Keyanna, Ellie, Yusuf, Brodie, Sofia and Alisa who were recognised for their brilliance in demonstrating our school values.
Boys' football
Well done to our boys’ football team who won their match against Meridian. Ricardo sealed the win with a hat trick. The end result OPHS 5-3. A very good performance all round. Mr Headley would also like to shout out to Vicktor and Aneirin for their debut performances. Well done.
Charity competition
Our House Charity competition is in full swing, and we have already had some brilliant fundraising including bake sales, penalty shoot-outs and a guess the ball competition. Next week we start collecting for our annual Food Bank drive. Donations of non perishable items are very much welcomed and students can drop them into their designated house box near reception.
School applications
We have recently received the applicant numbers for Year 7 places in 2025. I am proud to say that our applications this year have increased again, this year more than ever. Thank you to all our students who helped to show how wonderful the school is.
Reminder:
A reminder that our Year 11 parents' evening is on Thursday 12th December from 4.00pm, finishing at 6.30pm.
