Year 11 completed many exams this week
They are benefiting from a bespoke revision timetable.
Our Year 11 students completed many exams this week. They are benefiting from a bespoke timetable which ensures they receive a lengthy revision session, led by a subject expert, prior to the exam. Thank you to all our staff who provide a relentless focus on supporting Year 11 through this very important time.

This continues from last week when we had success with Deborah, Jayda and Justice gaining medals in the 100m, 200m and 300m respectively at the Year 9 Croydon Schools Athletics.
On Thursday, our students were invited to the prestigious Lord's Cricket Ground to experience T20 Cricket and Armed Forces Activity Day. The first activity involved team building and problem-solving in which two of our students, Ibrahim and Jay were asked to transport a box from the danger zone into the safe area without touching or making contact with it. After a few attempts, they worked out a clever way to overcome this problem. Alfie was then summoned to challenge one of the Military officers in the Batak Reaction Challenge which involves pushing each light as quickly as you can within a set time limit. Alfie showed good composure and scored 27 points in 30 seconds. We were later introduced to different branches of the armed forces such as the Signalling/Command, RAF, Navy, Light and Heavy Artillery Units. As the weather improved, we witnessed an exciting game of cricket. The highlight of the day was receiving an email from a member of the public about the immaculate behaviour and conduct our students displayed whilst on public transport. We are incredibly proud to have such wonderful young people at OPHS. Thank you to Mr Headley and Ms Powelsand.
Next week, on Thursday 23rd May, we look forward to the Spring Show. This will be a fantastic opportunity to see a wide range of students, from all years, performing in front of an audience. Please see our app MCAS for tickets.
